5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read!, 3 Oct 2012 By Pauline
This review is from: Would a Man Return (Paperback)
This book is written from the heart of the Author Edward H. Weinel. A book that brought back memories of my childhood and teenage years. It made me laugh, it made me cry but most of all it made me feel as though I knew the person who wrote it.
This one is a “must read” – certainly a book which I could not put down……..hope there will be a continuation soon! Brilliant reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting Real Life Account, 18 Sep 2012 By HB
This review is from: Would a Man Return (Kindle Edition)
Very interesting account of a life lived in the most interesting time of post war Britain, and dealing with the legacy that the war left the young people of this country at that time. This autobiography combines a very good eye for social detail and human relationships with good presentation of historical fact, and a wonderful introduction to what it was like to be involved in the emerging aviation industry of the time. As my long deceased father was of similar age to this author and also started out in aviation at that time, I have long looked for factual books such as this one in order to gain an understanding of his early life. I am so glad to have found Would a Man Return and send my congratulations to its author on a riveting read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can’t wait for the sequel, 16 Dec 2012 By A. Hughes (UK) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Would a Man Return (Kindle Edition)
This book is a fascinating read, telling a young man’s story in aviation. I can honestly say that I just couldn’t put it down, and I desperately want him to write a second book telling the rest of his story. He writes of Speke, of Portsmouth, of Bembridge, places I have been to in this century and it is sobering to read how different things were when he was there. A really good modern history.

Hard to believe this compelling autobiography is the author’s first book!
Edward Weinel’s rich descriptions of the joys and sorrows of childhood and adolescence with his mastery of language, transport one to another place and time. It is captivating reading for anyone, but particularly so for anyone interested in aviation. It deserves a wide audience.
