Ionia Froment 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent way to encourage the little ones to read Reviewed in the United States This adorable book is perfect for children who are just learning to read, on through kids up to about age ten. The Illustrations are cute and are the kind that parents can feel good about. There is no gross humour in this children’s book and it has a good overall message.
The book is long enough that it makes for a good bedtime story and also long enough that it will challenge a child to do some actual reading, but with the text being large and easy to read, it won’t be too intimidating either.
There is a good variety of words in this book, from very simple to more complicated, so it is a perfect choice for helping a child to extend their vocabulary and try to pronounce things they may not be so familiar with. There is also plenty of excitement for the little ones, so they are unlikely to get bored. The book is colourful and full page illustrations make it even more fun.
I enjoyed reading this with my boys and they enjoyed it on their own even. It is always a good sign when your child doesn’t want to go to bed because they would rather keep reading. This book gets my approval and two thumbs up, or five stars, whichever comes first.
